Dental Emergencies and Extractions

Dental emergencies can cause pain and disrupt your busy schedule. At West Glades Dental, we are available to treat your dental emergencies efficiently, so that they cause as little disruption and missed work as possible.

What Is a Dental Emergency?

Anytime you experience pain, a lost restoration, broken tooth, bleeding, or swelling, you should contact our office right away to schedule an emergency exam. Waiting to treat a dental emergency may cause a more serious issue or even require an extraction if left untreated.

If you have an accident that involves other injuries, bleeding that will not stop, or you suspect head or neck injuries, it is important to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room to rule out any serious, life threatening conditions.

Emergency Dental Appointments

Pain is your body’s way of getting your attention. It can indicate an infection, a crack or split, or a damaged tooth that requires root canal therapy or a repair. While dental pain can be frightening, our dentists will work quickly to identify and treat the source of your pain, providing relief.

We will take an x-ray of the area to identify the cause of your emergency and treat you with palliative or complete treatment, depending on your situation. We will schedule any follow-up visits to complete treatment and monitor healing.

Once your emergency is addressed by Dr. Molero or Dr. Soto, we will create a treatment plan to help you avoid dental emergencies in the future.

Tooth Extractions

Occasionally, removing a severely damaged, infected, or decayed tooth is necessary to protect your health and restore comfort to your smile. Our dentists are skilled at both surgical and simple extractions, performing most of them in our Boca Raton, FL dental office without the need for a referral from a specialist. We also extract problematic wisdom teeth, when necessary.
Dr. Molero and Dr. Soto make your comfort a top priority. Not only will your extraction be painless, but we will also give you detailed aftercare instructions and follow up on your healing. In most cases, pain after treatment is minor and treatable with over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol or ibuprofen.
At West Glades Dental, we also offer a number of tooth replacement options to restore your smile. When we provide your treatment options, we will help you make the best decision for your health and lifestyle. For many of our patients, dental implants provide a convenient and long-term solution to missing teeth.
